I did not go to college for photography (though, I seriously considered it during my junior year!) I started self-teaching during college, I got my first DSLR in 2009. I have taken online classes, I have attended several workshops, and watched countless hours of online tutorials. But nothing has helped me more than
creativeLIVE. It is a "live, worldwide creative classroom." They have 1, 2, and 3 day workshops taught by the industry leaders. They have workshops covering a myriad of topics. If you can watch the workshop during the live feed it is free! (They also have free re-watches during the evenings of the live workshop...)
I can not speak highly enough of creativeLIVE. The resources that they provide for photographers in amazing. They have courses on everything... business, sales (happening this weekend!), lighting, photoshop, lightroom, babies, seniors, editorial, fashion, and they even had a LIVE wedding! lol!
You can buy the workshops after they air live at a very reasonable price! (I mean stinkin' cheap!)
It is the best thing that could have happened to my photography and I am forever thankful for the resources they provide.
If you have not already, you should really check it out!
Tamara Lackey is doing a Work, Life Balance workshop today and then Friday starts her Sales course!
